About the Show

Walnut Street Theatre brings to life its annual musical adaptation of Charles Dickens’ holiday classic A Christmas Carol. Written by Cash Tilton and composed by Susan Mondzak, this beloved tale is directed by Philadelphia based actress and director Drucie McDaniel.

Created for families with children in kindergarten through sixth grade, A Christmas Carol, tells the heartwarming tale of Scrooge, a man who finds no joy at Christmas and shows no empathy or affection for anyone. Then one Christmas Eve, he is visited by the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future. With each of their visits, Scrooge discovers the rewards of reaching out to others and the meaning of Christmas.

To add excitement to each performance, cast members choose a Tiny Tim out of the audience at each performance. The lucky audience member is then whisked backstage and given a costume before he or she gets her big break in the musical’s final scene.

Performances are at 11 am on December 11, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, and 23. There will be a 6:30 pm show on the 13, which will be ASL interpreted.
