ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Heather Omara Reese is a poet, published author and writing coach whose creative work bridges the visible and the invisible. For over two decades, she has explored the language of emotion through visual art, performance, and now, the written word. Beginning her career as a multi-faceted and performance artist and muralist, she used gesture, texture and color to express what lives beyond speech. These practices evolved into her devotion to poetry, where she continues to translate memory, healing, and transformation into language and spoken word.
Her compositions are rooted in themes of belonging, social justice, nature, love, restoration, faith, and the sacred ordinary. As a writing coach, she is drawn to the alchemy that unfolds when others find their voice, guiding writers with compassion and curiosity. As a certified art therapy practitioner, Heather has an undying passion for helping women of all ages heal from trauma through the arts. Across mediums, her work honors creativity as ceremony—an act of remembering, reconnecting, and giving voice to the deepest truths of the human experience.
