Prince Brat and The Whipping Boy

Children’s Theatre of Charlotte presents Prince Brat and the Whipping Boy, adapted by Sid Fleischman from his Newberry-award winning book.

The play traces the unlikely friendship between horrible Horace, aka “Prince Brat,” and Jemmy, the look-alike street urchin who’s been brought to court to take the Prince’s punishments for him. Though Jemmy has plans for a solo escape, he’s enlisted by the Prince as a companion runaway. The pair encounters trouble from outlaws like Cutwater and Hold-Your-Nose-Billy, but Jemmy’s wit saves them in the end.
