Black Playwright Festival

The ArtsCenter presents the first Black Playwright Festival. A slate of one-act plays will be showcased: “Happy Ending” by Douglas Turner Ward, “Contribution” by Ted Shine and “What Lot’s Wife Saw” by Rita Marie Nibasa. Dorothy Clark, artistic director with Front Porch Entertainment is serving as executive producer of the project. The plays presented in the festival will take another look at the playwrights’ messages. Have we as a
society changed enough to see the many voices presented by black playwrights–or is everything still in black and white?
