Beauty and the Beast

Joanna Gerdy adapts Beauty and the Beast from the story by Madame Le Prince de Beaumont. When a loving father plucks a forbidden rose for his youngest daughter, Beauty, he links her forever to the rosebush’s owner, the unsightly Beast. Over time Beauty learns to look beyond the Beast’s hideous exterior and to love the gentle soul within. But when her father becomes ill she is faced with a difficult choice. Does she stay to care for her father or return to save the Beast, who will surely die without her love.
