This is a Mandarin Chinese comedy open mic by Chinese queers and feminists.

Today we are discussing Hope.

Hope is not just a passive waiting; it is also an active choice and practice in each moment. Hope is the first attempt and every attempt that follows. It’s not always a straight path; sometimes, we need to repeat the same work, like practicing a joke, organizing community events to support feminism and queer spaces, posting and reposting about social justice issues despite censorship. We may face bottlenecks, setbacks, and moments of rest. All of this is because the process of realizing hope requires both courage and patience.

In this open mic, we invite you to share your understanding of “hope,” your actions, your anger, and everything you are still willing to believe in. Tell us how you continue moving forward, even without any guarantees of success.
