About This Show

TWEED TheaterWorks, downtown’s deliciously depraved theatre company, has joined forces with Bumble & Bumble and Crobar to take the edge off the coldest winter in memory with an extraordinary two-part event celebrating the decade of peace & love. In Part 1, the House of Bumble (415 W. 13th St., between 9th Av & Washington St. in the meat packing district) will be transformed into The Electric Circus, circa 1968, complete with psychedelic lights, flower power and ‘happenings’. Part 2, an all-star concert of the music from HAIR, will take place a few blocks away at New York’s newest night owl destination, Crobar (530 W. 28th St., between 11th and 12th).

Co-chairs Florent Morellet and Isabella Rossellini have assembled a fierce party committee that includes Calvin Klein, Michael Cunningham (The Hours), Jeff Whitty (Avenue Q), Murray Hill, John (Lypsinka) Epperson, Joan Rivers and other luminaries. Partiers at The House of Bumble will mellow out with cocktails, groove to the tunes of DJ Tom Finn, dine courtesy of Restaurant Florent, and expect the unexpected from the ‘happening ‘ antics of performance artists Penny Arcade, Mike Albo, DANCENOISE, and The Dazzle Dancers. One floor below, guests can check out the salon as B&B stylists prepare performers for TWEED’s take on the legendary 60’s musical, HAIR.

In the trouble-making TWEED tradition, HAIR will be performed by a mind-shattering combination of bona fide musical superstars and downtown’s most fabulous freaks. Confirmed names so far include: Kate Pierson (of The B52’s), Carol Lipnik, Maggie Moore, Brenda Bergman & The Bodacious TaTas, The Dazzle Dancers, Penny Arcade, Kevin Aviance, Phoebe LeGere, Sade Pendavis, Elë Ferrer, The Ramakrishnanda Classic Yoga Society and many more to come…

A Benefit for God’s Love We Deliver & TWEED TheaterWorks.
