As entertaining today as it was when it opened in 1879, Gilbert and Sullivan’s popular comic operetta, The Pirates of Penzance spins an hilarious farce of sentimental pirates, bumbling policemen, dewy-eyed daughters and an eccentric Major-General, all morally bound to the dictates of honor and duty.
The score is beautiful and whimsical and there are a number of memorable roles. This Jr. edition is presented by the Helen Hayes Youth Theatre.
