The River Theatre Company (RTC), in keeping with its reputation for bringing work of the finest new playwrights to the stage, presents a Women’s Voices, Women’s Lives production of Tell Me About It, by Water Mill and Manhattan resident Lisa Reitman-Dobi, daughter of a Holocaust survivor. Formerly the VLMH resident company, known as Vail-Leavitt Theatre Company!, this is the company’s first production under its new name.
The plot centers around David, the youngest child of an American father and a Polish born, Jewish mother who emigrated to the US after World War II. Using fast moving dialogue and humor, the play explores David’s journey as he decides to become a writer. His desire to write about his mother’s past leads him to the truth about her experiences in war-torn Europe.
