About the Show

Hofstra University proudly presents Step Afrika! 101, an exhilarating and educational dance performance that introduces audiences to the vibrant art of stepping. This special event takes place on Sunday, February 8, 2026, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at the Toni and Martin Sosnoff Theater, John Cranford Adams Playhouse, South Campus. Admission is free and open to the public. Founded in 1994 by visionary artist C. Brian Williams, Step Afrika! has become a globally recognized cultural ambassador, blending the rich traditions of Black Greek-letter organization stepping with contemporary African movement, AfroBeats, and popular music. The result is an electrifying experience that celebrates rhythm, community and cultural expression.
