Don’t Drink the Water

The Township Theatre Group, Long Island’s longest continuously operating theater, concludes its 52nd season with the Woody Allen comedy, Don’t Drink the Water. Directed by John F. Emro, and produced by Susan J. Emro, the hilarious farce follows a hapless diplomat (Axel Magee) temporarily in charge of the American Embassy in an Eastern European country during the Cold War. When the Hollanders, a family of American tourists, are accused of spying and picture taking, they rush to the American Embassy seeking asylum, only steps ahead of the police. This immediately sends everything at the embassy into utter chaos. The Hollanders and other eccentric characters stuck at the embassy try one crazy scheme after another as they frantically try to get back to America.
