Alisa Weilerstein: FRAGMENTS 4

Alisa Weilerstein’s multi-year performance series FRAGMENTS brings together new commissions by some of today’s most compelling composers with the timeless beauty of J. S. Bach’s six suites for solo cello. During Carnegie Hall’s 2025–2026 season, Weilerstein presents FRAGMENTS 4, in which new works by Courtney Bryan, Gabriel Kahane, Matthias Pintscher, Missy Mazzoli, and Paul Wiancko are woven together with Bach’s Cello Suite No. 4, responsive lighting, scenic architecture, and theatrical styling. The performance is a 60-minute journey through a wholly original sonic landscape with no pause and no program, allowing the audience to simply immerse themselves in the dramatic power of live performance.
