About the Show
Playwright and performer Rodolfo Alvarado brings his critically acclaimed solo play, Undesirable Secrets, to the world’s largest solo theatre festival, United Solo, for its Off-Broadway debut at Theatre Row on November 1.
Bob Wicke, Theatre Critic and Professor Emeritus of English in NYC, praised it as, “A Triumph in Performance and Writing… As someone who has seen more than 300 plays on Broadway, Off-Broadway, and Off-Off Broadway, and reviewed hundreds, I do not make this statement lightly: Undesirable Secrets is worthy of Broadway.”
In this gripping solo play based on a true story, Alvarado brings to life the harrowing journey of Anthony C. Acevedo. Captured during WWII and held in the Berga slave labor camp, Acevedo was ordered by the U.S. government to remain silent. For 63 years, he obeyed—until a final act of truth-telling changed everything.
