The once thriving Sparks Kennels are now empty, everyone scattered. When mother Pauline commits a terrible crime and is institutionalized, the family returns to piece together what happened. But Pauline's damaged mind has found solace in nostalgia and any truth about the events of her motives will have to be reconstructed through the tenuous fragments of her memories, all jumbled together.
