The Big Bang

About the Show

It’s the pu-pu platter of comedy: a bit of sketch, a little improv, a short film, stand-up and a couple solo shows. The Big Bang, presented by the Manhattan Comedy Collective every Wednesday night. The line-up is as follows.

Schedule

7:00pm – improv/sketch: Character Dog Run

Watch six of New York’s funniest original characters, developed by actors beforehand, improvise together based on audience suggestions. New characters every week. Aug. 17 is a celebrity showcase. Opens with a short film by Central Park West Studios.

8:00pm – solo show: Character Forum: A Thesis

Writer/performer Katie Northlich plays every character in this comedic thesis (read: funny and smart). It’s a game of POV roulette: What is that other guy thinking, and is he right?

9:00pm – improv: Homeroom

This UCB-bred team presents “Down the Rabbit Hole,” a comedic waltz through an alternative fairy-tale world, based on an audience suggestion.

9:30pm – solo show: WONDERBOY

Marcus Gotfredson, 12-year-old boy soprano, is on a five-school national tour (well, New York and Indiana). He’s already made two CDs, going on three. He’s talented. He’s smart. And he’s a little bit famous. Written and performed by Jen MacNeil.
