About This Show

TADA!’s Annual Staged Reading Series encourages playwrights to create theatrical works that address issues of importance to contemporary teens. Past staged reading plays have focused on topics ranging
from teenage crushes, friendship, and peer pressure to date rape, alcoholism, AIDS, divorce, and war. Each year winning plays from TADA!’s Annual One-Act Playwriting Contest receive a staged reading in the series. The play is minimally staged in four to five rehearsals and the actors perform on-book. The series allows the playwright to develop his or her
dramatic work in a collaborative environment where the focus remains on the script and not production elements.
