About This Show

In his new show, Su Historia, Miguel Angel Zotto traces the moving 18-year history of his company, Tango x 2, as well as the history of the tango itself. The show pays homage to the creative contribution of the “maestros of dance”, and showcases the most influential movements of the dance through the combination of immaculately executed footwork and live music.

Act I of Su Historia includes a medley of choreographies, with extracts of the most dazzling steps, music and costumes from previous Tango x 2 shows.

In Act II, Miguel Angel Zotto pays homage to composer Astor Piazzolla and lyricist Horacio Ferrer, before unveiling never-seen-before sequences of modern tango. The bandoneón (similar in appearance to the accordion and with a more melancholic sound) plays an important part in this act, standing as the key instrument of the tango with the woman as its principal axis, celebrating her beauty and the harmony of her movements.
