About This Show

Stacey Kent performs her new show Love And The Lyric. It features songs from The Lyric, the new CD by her husband, saxophonist Jim Tomlinson featuring Stacey as special guest, which was awarded "Album of the Year" at the prestigious BBC Jazz Awards and topped the charts in England, France, Spain, Poland and Hong Kong.

Selections include gently swinging songs by Cole Porter ("My Heart Belongs to Daddy"), Frank Loesser ("If I Were A Bell") and Richard Rodgers ("A Cockeyed Optimist"), as well as quiet, reflective ballads by Michel Legrand ("What Are You Doing The Rest Of Your Life?"), Antonio Carlos Jobim ("Corcovado") and Irving Berlin ("I Got Lost In His Arms"). In addition to Mr. Tomlinson on saxophone, the engagement also features Art Hirahara on piano, David Chamberlain on bass, and Matthew Skelton on drums.
