Raul Malo, lead singer of The Mavericks

With one of the most powerful singing voices, Raul Malo founded the Mavericks in 1990. Since then they become one of the most successful country bands. Wanting to reach back to his Cuban and Jazz roots, Raul began a solo career while on break from the Mavericks. In Malo’s music you hear surprising stylistic quick turns and unexpected detours – from country to Tex-Mex rock ‘n’ roll to joyous kitschy ’60s cocktail pop to strait-up, traditional Cuban and South American music.
