About This Show

Pueblo Joven is an oratorio by Tango master Astor Piazzolla and poet Horacio Ferrer. Pablo Zinger conducts the Cosmopolitan Symphony Orchestra. Piazzolla’s powerful, passionate mixture of Tango, classical music, aggression and lyricism explores the history of Argentina from pre-colonization to the present. The show still rings true given the economic hardship and social upheaval that continue to haunt most Latin American countries. The Latin-American music group Triángulo (Marco Granados, flute, Gustavo Tavares, cello, Pablo Zinger, piano) will perform other works by Piazzolla – many of them NYC premieres.
