This award-winning piece has been scene in Prague and Pittsburgh and in workshop at P.S. 122, but now see the full NYC premiere. In Warhol the audience explores the many contradictions in the legend’s life along with a stunning and stylized rod puppet, through found objects pulled from his paintings. Scenes from his life are depicted through soup cans and magazines come to life, sprung from time capsules that fill the stage. His mistress, the telephone, keeps interrupting, but we think he finds what he’s looking for. Masterful puppeteering, physical comedy and a lush soundscape fill the piece with life.
