About the Show

The Center for Remembering and Sharing, with Dharma Road, presents Unlikely Excursions: An Evening of Improvisation, created and performed by Cassie Terman and Heather Harpham.

Terman and Harpham, both Senior Teachers in the Action Theater form of improvisation, take audiences on a playful and thoughtful romp through their imaginations. Combining the physicality of dancers and the narrative power of writers, the two create their work together and spontaneously, allowing scenes and situations to develop vividly before their eyes, and the audiences’. Each night is a new and entirely unique piece of theater, crafted in the moment.

Heather Harpham is a writer, solo performer and improviser. As a founding member of the International Action Theater Ensemble, and a Senior Teacher of Action Theater, she has performed and taught improvisation for nearly 15 years. In 1998 she received an MA in Theater from NYU’s Gallatin School and in 2000 she received an MFA in Creative Writing from NYU’s Creative Writing Program.
