About This Show

Mahina Movement presents its newest theater piece, Tongue in Paint. Written by and starring Moana Niumeitolu, the show tells the story of a young Tongan-American woman’s journey from a distant tropical island to the snowy plains of Provo, Utah, to the mean streets of NYC. Ensemble members share the roles so that the range of characters from the woman’s abusive father to the inspirational teachers she finds, and even the young woman herself are manifested differently by the different actors.
