The poetry of Polish Nobel laureate Wisława Szymborska — one of the great literary voices of the 20th century — is brought to the stage by Open Heart Surgery ensemble from Toronto. Two actors and a cellist combine physical theater, collage, clown, and an original score to awaken us to the poetic state of wonder, channeling the wit and deceptive simplicity of Szymborska’s verse. Performed in English, Polish, and French with English surtitles.
