The Wasteland

This play is set in a small room where only a hanging light bulb provides any light, as we are brought into the crumbling world of Willard and Lavinia Mannon. At dead time of the night, a mysterious stranger shows up at their doorstep who seems to have just fallen from the sky. His presence in the house re-awakens the Mannon’s dead marriage and stirs emotions both sexual and suicidal that have long sense been dead. Throughout the course of a day the Mannon’s come to realize that death is closer and more real than they could have ever imagined in this dark fairy tale.
