R.I.S.K. Theater presents The True Tragedy of The Mortician, a new play by Daniel Diamond, directed by Jason Alan Carvell.
The play explores the isolation of conformity forced on the lives of five young, successful, beautiful New Yorkers. A married couple have set up a blind date in a trendy downtown restaurant between an up and coming fashion executive and a free-spirited woman incapable of accepting the desperate adoration lavished upon her by the men in her life. The play is a comedy in the tradition of Chekhov, with
the unexpected explosions of violence and horror that reveal the alienation
of inflated social expectation and the bankruptcy of attempting to craft a
meaningful life in contemporary American culture.
