About the Show

The Tempest tells the story of Prospero and his daughter Miranda, living in isolation until a shipwreck brings old enemies and new loves to the enchanted island. Considered by many to be the Bard’s last work, The Tempest is one of Shakespeare’s most profound and playful texts, filled with magical characters and theatricality. Brooklyn College’s The Tempest will place the audience on the stage of the Gershwin Theater along with the actors, allowing the theater space to surround the spectators and suggest that they, too, are inhabitants of Prospero’s island. The production will also feature original music by Rob Maggio. Mary Robinson directs.
