About This Show

Edward Elefterion’s The Siblings is a philosophical riff on the classic Grimm’s fairytale Hansel and Gretel. In this version the children and their parents are allegedly the only inhabitants of a barren, cold planet. They follow the direction of Him, a voice that speaks in dreams. They have been good sheep and have followed all of His orders…until now. When the parents are told that they will only be able to prosper and live if they destroy and eat the little ones, the children become suspicious and flee. They come upon the infamous old lady’s house in the woods and meet yet another who wants to eat them. Murder begets murder, and few survive this bloody tale of faith and following.

The Siblings is part of the Midtown International Theatre Festival.
