About the Show
The Rover follows the misadventures of three daughters of Spanish nobility and three exiled English soldiers of fortune all in Naples, during Carnival. The plot thickens when assorted courtesans, jealous rivals and strict older brothers provide various obstacles. Envision Theatre Company (ETC)’s production utilizes an all-female cast to add the voice of the author – a notorious woman of her time, who served as a spy for the king, went to prison and was the first professional female English playwright.
