The Masque of the Red Death
Thousands are dying. Thousands are avoiding. What happens when we choose to wear blinders in an environment of suffering and chaos? When we try to escape the inescapable? In a devised interpretation of Edgar Allan Poe’s short story, “The Masque of the Red Death,” HiveMind Theater blends physical theater and puppetry to imagine what happens in a castle whose inhabitants are seeking refuge from a deadly plague. Prince Prospero proposes a radical means of finding a cure, but his closest adviser and friend uncover the truth behind his motives.
