About This Show

On August fourth, The Living Theatre (the country’s foremost politically-committed theatre) will present a reading of Minoru Betsuyaku’s play The Elephant, as part of the international commemoration of the 1945 bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The Elephant is set in Hiroshima, only slightly veiled and referred to as "that town". It alludes to the horrific disaster of 1945 both as fact and as symbol.
