The Clean House

This sly, antic comedy tells the story of a Brazilian maid in search of the perfect joke who single-handedly changes the alchemy of an upper-crust home in "metaphysical Connecticut." This play was the break-out hit for Sarah Ruhl, the most acclaimed playwright of her generation (and the first of her plays we have produced), and is a beautiful representation of her unique blend of whimsy, dislocation, theatricality, and surprise.
