About the Show
(The Blood) Electra is an original adaptation of Sophocles’ Electra. As with previous CTH adaptations of the Greek classics (Trojan Women and Medea), the Classical Theatre of Harlem’s Electra is a visceral and harrowing meditation on the costs of war that combines elements of Kabuki theatre, Afro-Caribbean dance and ritual sacrifice.
