About This Show

Texas Toast, a black comedy set in Lewisville, Texas at the wake of Delbert Delano, is a blend of the humor traditions of Greater Tuna and Crimes of the Heart and has the appreciation of family values exhibited by Flannery O’Conner. Lawanda, the matriarch of the family, has removed her fourth dead husband from the viewing room of the Perpetual Memories Funeral Parlor and had him placed on her daughter Doreen’s new living room couch so he can attend his wake. Doreen, married to her childhood sweetheart Harley, has raised her sister Annie’s daughter, Tiffany, from infancy. Annie has recently returned to town after 18 years in Las Vegas and quickly married a good old boy named Bubba, her fifth attempt at marital bliss. No one is pleased with his or her lot in life and by the end of the night, the conflicted secret that has twisted this family is revealed. Written and directed by Wendy Williams.

There is no performance on Wednesday, June 4.
