About This Show

The St. Petersburg Ballet returns with a spectacular program combining vibrant enthusiasm and dazzling technique with three of the most well-known classical masterpieces. Leading dancers from across the Russias perform exquisite choreography to Chopiniana by Frederic Chopin, Scheherazade by Nikolai Riimsky-Korsokov and the beloved Bolero by Maurice Ravel. Chopiniana grew out of Chopin’s Seventh Waltz, and is a timeless poetic example of stylization, Scheherazade is the fairytale of star-crossed lovers, and Bolero, which is Ravel’s most famous musical composition, is based on the Spanish dance and musical form of the same name.
