About This Show

Spider Holes, an evening of original comic sketches & one-act plays — “Three Sketches”, “Tangled Web”, “Coelacanth” & “Perfect Pitch” – written & directed by Fredrick Stoppel, returns to the Nuyorican Poets Café.

Spider Holes is a hilarious, provocative mix of sketches & one-acts with a sharp satirical edge. The opening sketches — “Proud Parents”, “O Christmas Tree” & “Payback for the Fat Man” — provide a comic overture to an evening that grows increasingly dark & disturbing. “Tangled Web” deals with a computer date gone bizarrely awry. In “Coelacanth,” a woman & her mentally-challenged brother go for a relaxing cruise on a whale-watching boat. “Perfect Pitch” takes a Hollywood meeting between a studio executive & a hungry producer to its lethally logical extreme.
