Whales, weather, and the indomitable human spirit… Three natural forces more immense than our own lives converge in this world premiere event written and performed by The WHITNY Group.
ACT I: Left alone in the Museum of Natural History, a child’s imagination has free reign. As one boy struggles to get out, he unleashes his peculiar reality onto the landscape around him. All the while, a God-like whale looms perilously above… In this original work, award-winning writer Jimmy Maize delivers the imaginative first installment of a whale-fable trilogy.
ACT II: Choreographers Erin Beery and Ricky Price spearhead a multimedia movement creation exploring our relationship to the weather and its effect on our pedestrian lives. Utilizing structured improvisation, found texts, original music and folklore, this piece is a lighthearted and visually arresting take on an everyday force.
ACT III: In this collaboratively created piece, award winning playwright Jordan Seavey (CollaborationTown) and director Ben Kerrick take a caustically funny look at contemporary relationships and the expectations before, during and after meeting someone new.
A wine reception will be included with the Friday performance.
