She Like Girls

Inspired by the 2003 murder of a lesbian teenager in Newark, NJ, by Chisa Hutchinson’s She Like Girls is the story of two inner-city high school girls who fall in love in a dangerously homophobic climate.

The Lark Play Development Center presents a BareBones® workshop production. The play was part of the Lark’s 2007 Playwrights’ Week festival this past September.

Kristin Horton directs a cast that includes Audrey Esparza, Kimberley Gregory, Tafia Harris, Jennifer Joplin, Jared McNeill, and Maria-Christina Oliveras.

BareBones® are simply staged, fully rehearsed public presentations of plays in the final stages of development. A BareBones® is the culmination of a comprehensive development strategy and 100 hours of rehearsal in advance of the public presentations.
