About This Show

Theater for the New City presents the premiere production of two plays from Walter Corwin’s cycle of topical plays.

September’s Song is set in New York City, shortly before September 11th and in its aftermath. Though the plays are not focused on the terrorist attacks, they loom in the background as individual stories unfold of people trying frantically to connect with each other. The country cheerfully dances on the edge of the abyss, then America is attacked, and seemingly pulls together. But the question remains–Can we learn to live together?

Plays include In the Shadow, directed by Jonathan Weber and A Footnote to History, directed by Jason LaRosa.
