Scientific Americans, by John Mighton, is a moral battle in the Reagan era about the cost of war, and the personal responsibility of science. The play tells the troubling story of how we compromise our passions in a world filled with violence and greed. Jim Evans is a young physicist who is hired by the Department of Defense, pledging his fiancée he would never work on anything first strike. When he puts his mind to a nearly impossible equation, he finds the stealth bomber, and the destruction of his relationship.
