About This Show

Staged as an actual wedding reception on the Chocolate Factory stage complete with live music, place settings, and a cake, Scenes from a Wedding is a dance theater performance inspired very loosely by characters from Richard Yates’ Revolutionary Road and Ingmar Bergman’s Scenes from a Marriage.

Scenes from a Wedding unveils the inner workings of the wedding party as the day’s events unfold – the Bride, the Groom, the Best Man, the Maid of Honor, the DJ and his Wedding Singer girlfriend, all experiencing their own internal personal crises, struggling and failing to compose themselves on this very big day. The show is conceived and choreographed by Gabriella Barnstone, and features performances by David Hale, Gabriella Barnstone, Shawn-Aileen Clark, Mark Gindick, Bessie McDonough-Thayer and Carlton Ward. Live musical accompaniment is provided by tenor saxophonist Vito Dieterle, upright bassist Ian M. Riggs and guitarist Eben Levy.

Appropriate for adult audiences.
