In May 2005 Andy Horwitz posted his mayoral intentions on his personal
blog and built a blog – blogparty.org – to document his campaign. What
started out as a joke soon turned serious when the site got featured on
Gawker.com and Andy received a flood of supportive emails from friends
and strangers alike. The Blog Party was founded upon the idea that it is
high time to bring the blog revolution to politics – where anyone with
time, interest and an internet connection can have their say.
