George Emilio Sanchez, a former head of the janitors’ union, uses his solo piece to speak to the effervescent windows blowing the chimes of freedom in an age of global terror. Rosa examines the roots of a conflict that has conflated the political into a personal ground zero. Commissioned prior to September 11, the show has evolved to include Sanchez’s reactions and many characters’ unique perspectives on the tragedy.
