About the Show

Real Black Men… spans three decades (the 1960s through the 1990s), tracing the complicated lives of eight men of color and consciousness.

Among them are a conjure man, cursed by his ex-lover; a gay man with AIDS who travels to Africa on a last journey of self-discovery; a wheelchair-bound Viet Nam veteran taunted by the ghost of a Viet Cong guerrilla fighter with, “Black man, why you fight here”; a jailhouse blues man; a spirit of the unborn who weaves in and out of all of the men’s lives.
