Questa is about a gay bashing in reverse and the remorse and search for redemption of the young gay man guilty, perhaps of a murder, or an accident, brought on by the homophobic taunts of a straight young man. Paul may have killed Lori’s son. The world assumes that it was a "gay bashing." Paul, obsessed with guilt, starts following the young man’s mother. Paul wants to be relieved of his guilt by first hating the world Lori’s son came from, but he ends up trying desperately to bring relief to this mother’s suffering.
