Sage Entertainment, in association with theater et al, presents Pick-Up 6, thematically and conceptually linked short plays featuring lust- to love- to truth- to friendship-based relationships, ranging from poignant to farcical.

In LIGHT READING (written and directed by Nancy Greening), a man who can’t read or write becomes a man of letters when love transforms him at the Narberth train station.

In the manic and fast-paced TECHNIQUE ÉLECTRONIQUE (written by Ann Warren, directed by Jennifer Brainsky), the sexy classical music assistant faces constant surprises, technical and personal, backstage before concert.

ONE IN THE OVEN (written by Brian Rogers, directed by Jennifer Brainsky) is a light-hearted romp through the world of alcoholic codependence, where tough love triumphs over booze. Freddy chains his wife to the bedpost. May sucks down gin like a sailor. Hijinks (and pistol whippings) ensue. Love and innocence reclaimed!

In MASHED POTATOES (written and directed by Elaine Berman), a longstanding relationship is threatened when a perfectionist insists upon showing his friend the “right” way to make mashed potatoes for Thanksgiving dinner.

After a three-month separation, a young man wins back the woman he is madly in love with, only to discover that she is pregnant — by another man in WHERE THE SUN DON?T SHINE (written by Denis LaBreche, directed by Brenna Thomas).

While men may be satisfied with momentary pleasure to be had by purchasing sex at a whorehouse, women are much more demanding — they want something lasting and substantial. THE HUSBAND BROKERS (written by Paul Joseph Gulino, directed by Jennifer Brainsky) is the place women can go to purchase a lifetime commitment.
