The Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas (POA) launches its First International Tour with a concert at the Skirball Center for the Performing Arts. Led by 27-year-old Mexican Conductor and Artistic Director Alondra de la Parra, POA presents highlights of its repertoire: Inguesu (a piece based on a soccer match) by Mexican composer Enrico Chapela, Cuban Overture by George Gershwin, Danzon No. 2 by Arturo Marquez, Tangazzo by Argentinean composer Astor Piazzolla, and the Concerto for Piano by Carlos Ponce featuring Venezuelan pianist Ana Karina Alamo.
