Paper Angels

Set in 1915, Paper Angels explores America’s historic ambivalence towards immigration through the tale of a group of Chinese detainees on Angel Island, the Ellis Island of the West Coast. Featuring archival footage of Angel Island, a traditional Chinese music ensemble, and Obie Award winner Jojo Gonzalez as a long-time Californian caught in the net of the Chinese Exclusion Act.
