About the Show

Pack Light combines autobiography, character sketches, original video, and Afro-Caribbean music and dance (choreographed by Trinidadian Natalie Joseph-Settle) in a funny, candid, and moving reflection on cultural schizophrenia. With unflinching honesty and infectious off-beat humor, Trinidadian writer and performer Caroline Neisha Taylor invites you into her world to share the joys and perils of wrangling Caribbean and British parentage; navigating U.S. life and airport security as a (legal!) alien; and being a multiracial and bi-national potpourri in a world of far too many check-boxes, where everyone keeps asking: “So… what are you, anyway?”

Part of the 2006 New York International Fringe Festival.
