About This Show

Our Time Theatre Company, an artistic home for people who stutter, premieres its One-Act Play Program, where three senior members of the teen company, write and direct their own one-act plays to be performed by professional actors. This inaugural event explores the universal and timely themes of growing up, responsibility, friendship, love, and politics in a country divided.

“Evicting Yourself, ” written and directed by Corom Buksha (16 years old), comically examines the life of a 27 year old trying to escape from under the thumb of his controlling parents.

“A Beautiful Story About 2 Friends,” written and directed by Linda Gjonbalaj (18 years old), is a modern musical romantic comedy that reunites life time friends after four years apart, who realize that in this day and age, good old fashion courting is still the best way to a woman’s heart.

“Election Night,” written and directed by David Nachman (17 years old), takes place behind the scenes on election night, as the Democratic Presidential candidate rehearses his acceptance speech and concession speech. This timely play dramatically explores the core themes of democracy.

Each performance ends in a Q & A with the teen writers/directors.
